40 years of experience in biochemistry and biotechnology in academia and the pharmaceutical industry:
- Management positions in Immuno, ÖIH, Baxter, Baxalta, Shire, and Takeda in the areas of vaccines, recombinant proteins, downstream processing, plasma fractionation, as well as diagnostics and medical device development and preclinical R&D.
- Fields of expertise include pharmaceutical biotechnology, plasma fractionation and plasma products, protein purification and characterization, drug modification technologies, haemophilia, blood coagulation, pathogen inactivation, and diagnostics.
- Frequent speaker at international scientific and academic conferences.
- Academic affiliations as Associate Professor at the University of Vienna and as Honorary Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Krems, Austria as lecturer and guest professor of pharmacology and toxicology, pharmaceutical- and protein-biotechnology, and quality and regulatory affairs issues of the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Experience as founder of start-ups.
- Represents biopharma for 25 years at international regulatory authorities such as WHO, EDQM/ European Pharmacopoeia, US-FDA, EMA and to scientific and public organizations such as DIN Standards Committee and Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA).
